Abstract

This collection was donated in three batches. The original donation, in August 2016, consists of papers related to the World War I military service of late Newark resident Henry G. Francisco. A later donation, in August 2017, contains genealogical information about the Francisco family. In March 2021, a third donation contained miscellaneous materials mostly related to Francisco's life after World War I.

Scope and Contents This small collection consists of two folders of photographs, newspaper clippings, and printed material, all possibly removed from a scrapbook.A folder entitled "Photographs" (ca. 1890s-1918) includes candid shots of Duffy, from childhood, with family and friends; photographs of Duffy in training and with his army buddies, and one formal, full-length portrait of Duffy in uniform.
